Kyoto’s Fushimi Inari Taisha is world-famous and I think there is no one who doesn’t know about it, but do you know “Ganrikisha” enshrined on Mt. Inari?

“Ganrikisha” is located about 40 minutes on foot from the main shrine through the Senbon Torii and on the approach to Mt. Inari.

It seems that it is not well known among tourists, but as the name suggests, it is given the power to see the future, so many business owners and people involved in the market continue to visit it enthusiastically.

Benefits of “Ganrikisha” known only to specific people

Ganrikisha is the deity enshrined on Mt. Inari as the founder of Fushimi Inari Taisha. Since ancient times, it has been said that there are benefits such as “recovering eye diseases” and “benefiting foresight and eyesight”.

It is said that if you visit the shrine several times, you will be attracted to Ganrikisha as a connection is built.

The first time I visited was when I was told by a doctor that I had two more years left to live.

At that time, I didn’t know about “Ganrikisha” at all, but I happened to climb Mt. Inari while I was recovering.

Looking back now, it’s strange that I was able to climb Mt. Inari even though my resting heart rate was as low as 30bpm and walking was painful.

Eight years have passed since then, and I have been completely released from the hospital where I used to go for regular checkups. Now I feel so energetic that my whole body is filled with energy.

On the last day of the regular check-up, the doctor (professor) who took care of me asked me curiously, “What did you do to cure me?”

I don’t think people would believe me when I said, “Thanks to Ganriki-san,” so I answered, “I just like what I like. If I had to say it, I was careful with my exercise and diet.”

At the time, I thought, “If you have a disease that has no cure, you may be able to live a little longer by training your body.”

Then, I decided to pay attention to the nutritional balance of my diet and go to the gym, but I could hardly afford to go there, so it was not even about exercising.

Every day, after a few minutes of physical activity, I am exhausted and fall asleep in the stretch room. The staff often asked me, “Are you okay?”

When I was living like this, I was invited out of nowhere to visit Ganrikisha.

After that, my body gradually began to move and I improved until I could exercise.

I don’t have faith that “If you ask God or Buddha, your wish will come true.” However, I feel that Ganriki-san has a mysterious power.

I was drawn in and received God’s message.

After visiting the shrine, I pulled out an omikuji, and the result was “good luck after bad luck.” Misatoshi wrote things like, “Rewarding the whirlpool of blood caused by my past actions”, “Renewing my mind and putting up with it for a while”, and “I’ll get better after that”.

“Misatoshi” is a message from God

Come to think of it, I’ve come to see the shortcomings of selfishness and self-excess that I have to reflect on.

After that, I decided to live in humility without forgetting the feeling of gratitude. This is not because I followed Mr. Ganriki’s instructions, but because he made me realize.

This is a business card-sized card written in Reisho script, which is secretly gaining popularity among merchants. I always carry it in my wallet so that I don’t forget “humility and gratitude.”

What I’m trying to say is

Visiting a shrine is not for making a wish to the gods and Buddhas, but for calming one’s mind and gaining an opportunity to reconsider one’s self.

When you face yourself honestly and listen to your true feelings, you will notice various things. And that realization comes from within yourself, and by following it, your life will turn around for the better.

This is the power of the original “Gods and Buddhas” and does not grant selfish wishes.

However, Ganrikisha feels limitless power.
